Rollie has a list of things he would like to accomplish around the house while at home on sabbatical. I've been trying to think of a way to make our time at home, while on sabbatical, different for me personally (other than time with Rollie, which I'm so excited about). Since I love to cook, but at this point rarely try new recipes, I came up with the Sabbatical Recipe Project. Each dinner that I cook at home on sabbatical is going to be a new recipe.
With a 3 year old and a 16 month old I usually find it easier to cook what I know how to make and what I know we like. It's more efficient and economical, and we do have a pretty large selection of favorite recipes, both "guest-worthy" and for everyday. However, I have a pile of recipes that I've clipped out of Martha Stewart mag or dog-eared in my cookbooks, as well as a recipe folder in my email from friends. It's time to try some of those bad boys!
My friend Emily also mentionned that the 99 Cent Only store has sauces and seasonings, so I went today and picked up soy sauce, rice vinegar, and crimini mushrooms for... you guessed it, only 99 cents each.
I'll let you know how each recipe turns out!
