I expected great family time, help with the kids when I want to shower, Rollie sleeping in (which he hasn't done too much of... see his blog post), lots of traveling, house projects, etc. What I DIDN'T expect was to be folding a mountain of white t-shirts on laundry day. And it never occured to me that I wouldn't have the volume of ironing that I normally do - goodbye to 6 button-down shirts each week! I didn't expect facial hair to be the new norm (though I shouldn't be surprised). Lunches are better thought-out than they usually are - slapping PBJ sandwiches onto a couple of plastic plates doesn't cut it for Rollie for 8 weeks straight :) I didn't expect Lydia and Rollie to draw "tattoos" all over each other...
AND, to give a lot of credit to my husband, I didn't expect him to be working quite as hard as he has been around the house and on the cars. He's had a busy first week and I greatly appreciate all that he's done around here! The kids and I are really enjoying seeing his face during the day, and there is a lot more wrestling and screaming (in a good way) than there normally is.
Tomorrow is our last day here before beginning our month of traveling. There's some packing left to do, but things are looking good. Now I need to get off the couch and scrub some showers and toilets before the kids get up from their naps. What a great life God has given us...
yay for this blog! so cool! =) love you guys!
